1.1m Old Pre-Historic Elephant Skull Found Near Gujrat, Pakistan
Reseachers took almost two days to uneath Fossils without harming the fossil.
Syed Ghayoor Abbas, The main person behind this research told newspersons on Saturday: “20,000 to 1.1 million-year old animal bones had been found in the area. However, it was the first time a pre-historic elephant skull was found there and This discovery will help scientists understand the genetic, hereditary and evolutionary features of the species.”
The Scientific name of the elephant is “Stegodon” and the skull weighs 120 kilograms and It is 38-centimetres-long and 28-centimetres-wide
The Fossil will now be sent to a hydrocarbon research laboratory for tests to determine age and family of the mammal
The Punjab University’s spokesman said that the skull would be put on display at the PU’s Jhelum campus. “Later it will be placed at a museum”
