Film producers accused Coke Studio for ripping off “Hina Ki Khushbo”
Lollywood producer Javed Waraich has planned to sue Coke Studio for ripping off classic song and penalize with PKR five crore fine for improvising ‘Hina Ki Khushbo’ which was originally sung by Madam Noor Jehan and Mehndi Hasan in old Pakistani movie Mere Huzoor.
The film producer seems unhappy with the way Coke Studio in improvising old classic songs in season eight. He also complained that the management of Coke Studio had not taken permission from anyone.
According to a report in Roznama Express, film producer Javed Waraich has planned to sue Coke Studio for using his song Hina Ki Khushbo, sung by ammature singers Asim Azhar and Samra Khan in episode 5 of season 8.
The producer Waraich has claimed that Coke Studio has ruined the classic song originally sung by the great Madam Noor Jehan and Mehndi Hasan.
The reported added that another producer named Farooq Rao believed that the Coke Studio has spread ‘confusion instead of fusion’ on stage.
This is happening not for the first time, recently, Amjad Sabri, Khalid Anam and other showed some reservations over copyright issues. According to them, some of the musicians and producers have used their songs without their permission.
