Jasmine Manzoor EXPOSED the owners of Express Media Group Lakhani Brothers
Veteran anchorperson and analyst, Jasmine Manzoor has labelled some big corruption charges on Sultan Lakhani, the owner of Express Media Group. Jasmine, in her show “Bol Jasmien Kay Sath” on Bol TV, showed some National Accountability Bureau (NAB) documents, which claimed that the bureau had detained Sultan Lakhani and his brother for eight months in May 2000. Jasmien asked the question from authorities that how a convicted person was running a media group and how he got the license.
According to the NAB documents, chairman NAB and few officials privately signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sultan Lakhani, after he accepted all corruption charges labelled on him. According to the MOU, Jasmien disclosed, NAB agreed Sultan Lakhani’s condition the he will not sign the guilty papers and return the corruption money.
Jasmien disclosed that Sultan Lakhani borrowed loan from Pakistani banks and never returned. NAB arrested him for corruption charges in May 2000, when there was no Express Media Group. Sultan promoted his front man and fake companies from the corruption money.
After the MOU, Sultan returned a certain amount to vendors and agreed to return the remaining in ten years. Jasmien quoted NAB officials that Sultan Lakhani has not yet returned the money which he agreed upon in MOU.
Quoting Leader of Opposition Mr. Khursheed Shah, that it was a war between media group, Jasmien accepted the challenge and said that everything is fair in war. She also asked the federal interior minister that how Express Media Group is still working in Pakistan.
