JazzCash bags prestigious Glomo Award at Mobile World Congress 2017
After successfully making their mark in Pakistan by helping citizens, especially women, JazzCash has internationally made Pakistan proud. CEO and President of Jazz, Mr Aamir Ibrahim was recently awarded the recognition of developing the ‘Best Mobile Product, Application or Service for Women in Emerging Markets’. JazzCash successfully competed with other contestants from across the world!
The award was presented at the World Mobile Congress 2017 held in Barcelona by the GSMA. “Our congratulations to all of the winners and nominees of the GSMA’s Glomo Awards at Mobile World Congress this week,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “The Glomo Awards truly showcase those companies and individuals that are driving innovation in the rapidly evolving mobile industry. We thank all of our entrants, judges, sponsors and partners for supporting the 2017 Glomo Awards.”
JazzCash has been an inspirational venture that has not only made lives easy in the urban population but has struck a chord with the otherwise neglected rural population of Pakistan as well. The idea was to lift up the absent mobile banking system and sense among the women in the rural areas who fail to manage money on their own and have trouble managing finance as this allows them a convenient give and take of cash.
Apart from the CEO/President, Mr Ibrahim, Aniqa Afzal Sandhu, Chief Digital & Financial Services Officer was also present who laid emphasis on how important it is one to be actively participating in this new time and age of digitalization. She also assured that Jazz will be always working towards creating better and more convenient products for the betterment of their customers, in this case, especially women.
In a more global as well as digital world, JazzCash winning an international award comes as a breath of fresh air to Pakistan.
