Pepsi introduces the innovative 3D concept of “Pinball Cricket” in Pakistan
Pakistan has been fondly associating Pepsi with cricket for quite a while now and rightfully so. In the recent times, Pepsi has worked with Cricket Pakistan as a sponsor as well as a promoter. A good example would be the new film for social media that has done the rounds. In this very film, Pepsi has incorporated street cricketers with a cricket star, Shoaib Malik. This film has been exclusively shot for social media.
The film revolves around the street cricketers playing cricket and then being surprised by Shoaib Malik as they continue to play Pinball cricket. What is pinball cricket, you ask? It is an execution of latest technology in wanting to create a rather surreal experience for the cricket lovers in Pakistan. This not only looks good but also promotes the idea of cricket specifically given the fact that most of Pakistan’s cricketing legends have come about from the roots of street cricket.
The good old idea of street cricket has, in the film seen an interesting modification that as ended up making it the new cool. With times, things need to be altered according to the raging technologies and that is exactly what Pepsi has done through this ad and the introduction of a new and rather cool term called Pinball cricket.
The beginning of the video takes many down the memory lane with details that include what happens if the ball hits a certain part of the street or a house, for instance, but that nostalgia is then complemented with the idea of technology and how it can enhance our experience not only as a spectator but also as one playing the game. Visually attractive, this film has managed to garner many eyeballs and has been the recent fascination among young street cricketers.
Pepsi, yet again manages to make the connection with Cricket as well as the younger Pakistan through a visually and mentally appealing campaign.
