They say TV is dying, but most of the times it seems like it’s only spreading across more platforms now. The only difference is the power to chose. Everything you see on TV is also available everywhere online now, in most cases though, or should I say in ‘smart’ cases, the online version is usually followed by a lot more than a single message delivered.
Weather that’s a technological or social achievement for us is debatable, however what’s not debatable is the excessive entertainment value. Entertainment is not limited to branded ﬁlms anymore. What the ‘advertisers’ call ‘content’ and ‘engagement’ is what is vital for every campaign and is synonymous to entertainment in the normal world. We see all sorts of things going ‘viral’ for one reason or another and most of the times we enjoy it. With the new Sting ad all over the TV I couldn’t help but notice it online as well and usually this means there’s more to follow. They’re claiming to have some ‘electrocuting’ plans and I’m all eyes and ears right now.
